Dr. Tanya Brandy Psy.D., LMSW, LPCT, MTh, CPI, CATF, CAMS

Dr. Tanya Brandy joined Second Chances Addiction Recovery Center in May 2021 and has been a substance abuse counselor since 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a Master of Social Work from Grambling State University, and advanced degrees in Theology and Biblical Psychology from the H.O.P.E. Bible Institute. 

With over 13 years of clinical experience, Dr. Brandy has worked in inpatient, outpatient, and mental health settings, providing individual and group therapy. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Professional Christian Therapist, Certified Parent Instructor, and Certified Anger Management Specialist. In addition to her work at Second Chances, she is a professor at Grambling State University’s School of Social Work and serves on several boards and committees, including the Policy, Ethics, & Professional Conduct Committee and the advisory board at Grambling’s School of Social Work. 

Dr. Brandy is also a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Women in the NAACP (WIN), the Phi Alpha Honor Society (where she advises the Lambda Phi Chapter at GSU), and is a provisional member of the Monroe Junior League (MJL). 

Dr. Brandy takes a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit to promote long-term sobriety. She is extremely passionate about assisting individuals to transition their lives from a place of unmanageability to peace through guidance of mindfulness, gratitude, and humility.
